I thoroughly enjoyed this little journey into the Spiral Library by Evren Sener. It was like Jonathan Livingstone Seagull meeting Yin and Yang. For me, it spoke about flying above the illusions we are taught, and re-discovering our true inner voice, then listening to it. It is a kind of parable about the DNA of our spiritual journey and the many winding strands that make it up. Her background in the ancient Vedic texts is evident. There are strong similarities between the characters in her story and those from ancient history. Stories like these never grow old, and never cease to amaze. Each person who reads this, I think will find a bit of themselves in her main character Soe, the chosen successor to the Chief Librarian of The Spiral Library. It makes the saying by Victoria Moran that "It's probably unfair to expect the world at large, or even most people, to see us for all we are. It is essential, however, that we see ourselves for all we are." I highly recommend this thrilling adventure into the world of inner truth.Tags : The Spiral Library- The Successor (Volume 1) [Ms Evren Sener, Evren Sener, Charise Diamond] on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Spiral Library could have been called the Spiritual Library. Its theme is a spiritual adventure story and learning process of the female character. Full of thrills and suspense, thoughtful and inquiring teenagers are sure to enjoy this -- there is so much to think about. I especially liked the episode where Soe enters into the Book of the Five Elements. The idea that we can enter a book and watch its characters go through their destiny, without getting caught up and identifying with them, has a deep significance. Thank you.
Soe is a teen selected as candidate for successor to the Chief Librarian and must undergo twelve nights and days of trials that test her values and strengths. Even though she is forced into this and at first wants to leave she eventually accepts. Don't let the title of Chief Librarian fool you. There is so much more to the Spiral Library than you think at first. Soe experiences incredible things in the spiral library such as being pulled into books to bring back people lost in their fantasies and so much more. The author has a great imagination and has a way of bringing that alive in this book. The story was easy to follow and well written and I really enjoyed reading it.
I enjoyed reading Evren Sener's book. The story itself is intriguing - somewhere there is a library that houses all of history in books. The occupants of this library are charged with protecting it and it's secrets at all costs. When Soe is thrust into this world against her will, she decides to fight destiny. But in the course of her rebellion, she learns hard lessons about her world and herself.
There are many points for strong discussions during the reading of this book. It's well suited to young adults at the higher end of the age range. I did find the book a little slow and awkward to start but picked up it momentum after the first chapter or so. The biggest issue, to me, is the at times Sener seems confused as to what perspective to used. Some parts of the book feel forced and missing some description to round it out. In these places, the transitions are rough or even lacking entirely.
Fortunately, the concept is strong and the plot carries you through these uneven places. I would likely read subsequent books in the series.
Disclaimer I received a complimentary copy of this book for the purpose of this review. Any and all thought in this review are my own and not influenced by either the author or publisher.
To read this book you cannot do wrong choice, it very good choice because Evren has great inner Guide, which helped her to wrote this book. This book is for everyone, because since childhood we have imagination and some of us are even more "ready" to read it.
It is a huge fun of Evren Sener. Beautifully written. I got lost in the story. Sometimes you feel a fluffiness like touching a velvet, sometimes you feel a thrill like running in a maze. A book like this is a rare and wonderful treat.
A lovely small tale. I got engrossed in the story immediately and stayed engrossed throughout. It was wonderful to be engaged with the moral and spiritual growth of Soe as she encounters many challenges. The world's that Sener has created is beautifully realized and intriguing. Highly recommended.
