My Soul to Keep Moon Chasers Book 4 Sharie Kohler Books
You know that scene in the movie Moonlight where Cher's character slaps Nic Cage's character when he says he loves her and she yells "Snap out of it!" Well that's this book. The main character Sorcha was so silly, so infantile, so -- useless, I kept wanting to slap her silly and yell those same words to her. Jonah and Sorcha (sheesh even her name annoys me) were introduced in an earlier book and their characters held promise. I had hoped that theirs would be a great story behind their uniting that culminated in a pair that I would look back on and say yeah those two made a great book. However now that the rubber met the road I was praying that Jonah ended up with someone a bit more spunky like say Mila the white witch at the end of the book.Sorcha has a rather illogical thirst to get revenge on the HWIC (head witch in charge) who created the subspecies. Because of her Sorcha believes her husband was killed as just another bump in the road. Not to mention he was elderly, more of a father figure and never her husband in all ways. He just basically took her in and according to her exposed her to culture and wealth and art. Sorcha was so glad to be away from cruelest dad of the Year Ivo that a Pigeon could have taken her into it's nest and she would have been grateful. Sorcha also carried a torch for Jonah and both Jonah and she believed each other dead in an horrific explosion so of course when they come face to face, no happy reunion for these two. Just blame and recriminations. Him - I thought you were dead. Her - I thought you were dead and you failed to mate with my 15 year old self when I offered. The storyline then jumps to Sorcha (that awful name again) wanting to train to kill demons because she can't keep hold of the witch when she finds her and she can't seem to protect herself when a demon tries to kill her via another source. That thread wraps up in a few chapters with her seeming to have learned nothing and Jonah getting his rocks off repeatedly and then booting her butt into the street. The book wraps up with Daddy Ivo putting them (yes his own daughter too) in a gladiator style fight club. The book quickly introduces other characters (I'm liking Mila), other species and another awful explosion where - duh-duh-duh (cue the music) we don't know if daddy Ivo is dead and done.
I could not wait for this book to end. I liked the start of the series and felt the first few books showed promise but ewwww this one stunk to high heaven. Weakly written, no strong plot development, kinda pointless sex (and I likes me some steamy paranormal loving) and so many threads left untied I am aghast at what Ms. Kohler will delve into next. It was also a too quick read. I think given what she threw out there this book seems to have been more a setting of the table for other stuff to come in the series but she did so in a way that left me with no interest in finding out what that is. Also don't let these 4 & 5 stars fool you on this one. This book at best was 3 stars (and I mean 2.5-3) for being the weakest in the series and a full-on messy mish-mash. I understand the to each his own but I personally am tired of many professional reviewers (you know who you are) giving the buying public these glowing reviews for lack-luster stuff. I also hope Ms. Kohler gets back in the game with a better offering next time worthy of the books in the series

My Soul to Keep Moon Chasers Book 4 Sharie Kohler Books Reviews
3.5 Stars
n the Moon Chasers series.
As a child, Sorcha was terrorized by her family. Her father was a strong, slightly crazy, alpha who seemed bent of conquering the werewolf world. Her family viewed her as weak, but Jonah, her father’s right hand man, protected her. Growing up, Sorcha had a crush on Jonah, but he didn’t return her feelings – he always viewed her as a child.
Years later, Sorcha and Jonah meet again. Both had believed the other was dead, but their reunion is anything but happy and peaceful. Sorcha is on a mission to kill a demon possessed witch and Jonah (who is a demon hunter) has been charged with keeping the possessed witch alive. If the sorceress dies, her demon will be released and hell will literally break loose.
The overall storyline of the book was fantastic. The relationship and sexual tension between the main characters was well written. The draw backs Sorcha was a bit too headstrong and she became very irritating at times. The book, though short, seemed to drag in some areas. Jonah saved the story. He was a wonderful hero.
This series is a fresh take on shifters/werewolves. The paranormal and fantasy elements blend very well. If you are a fan on the shifters, werewolves and witches you must check out the Moon Chasers series.
Sharie Kohler started the story of Sorcha and Jonah in To Crave a blood moon and I was so happy when she decided to give them their own book. There have been times when I have begun a series and have gotten attatched to a character or characters and a book has been written about them and I was let down. This book did NOT let me down. It was wonderful from the first to the last page.
I was happy to see that Sorcha had grown into a strong woman with enough vulnerability to make you feel bad for her...especially with her husband's death. I was also really excited about Jonah's new job as a demon slayer. I loved the surprises (which I will not put in here because I do not want to ruin it for the rest of you.) I can promise that they are wonderful. I can not wait for the rest of Mrs. Kohler's Moon Chaser's series. I have already preordered Darius' story. Thank you for keeping entertained.
