I love the concept of Hella, I think that she is awesome! I love the story line, I love the characters, and I love the descriptive manner in which Karen Carr writes. I would definitely recommend the Dawnland Series, (Pockets Of The Dead, Hella Kills) to anyone who loves a good zombie/apocalypse novel. I was sad at some of the choices that Hella makes in Hella Kills, but I understand why it happened. Overall I love these books, and I think anyone who likes this genre will too.

Another good read from a talented writer but I find myself wondering if he is a lousy speller or just doesn't bother to edit the writing at all. I am a good reader so it just took a little extra effort.
I like the idea of one person being able to kill zombies within a mile just by standing still. I would love to have that immunity. Killing the dead one step at a time. This book was full of action. Great read I can't wait for the next

A different path through a maze of options in survival, years after the apocalypse. Through a young girls eyes you live what she does and feels on her struggle to survive, the only thing she has known. The people she encounters along with the man who protects her in this NEW WORLD.
I really enjoyed book 1 and book 2. The characters fit so well together. I couldn't wait to find out the end but when I was finished I wanted more and realized there is book 3 coming out in January 2015. It kept me interested all the way to the end.
The character's not perfect, but she grows across both books. The relationships among all the characters are interesting if sometimes rather random. I gobbled up no 1 and immediately bought no 2, which I gobbled even more quickly.

Ms. Carr's style is a might simple, even sparse for my taste, but the story is compelling. I'll buy blood 3 asap.
I read both books in two days. Hella Kills has far more action in it compared to the first book, but I liked the progression. Hella is coming into her own in this book, both as a freak and as a killer. There were a LOT of characters introduced here that made things a little confusing, but overall, it was very enjoyable.
